Without Traffic To Our Sites, We Can’t Build Our Business, Wouldn’t You Agree?

Without traffic to our sites, our businesses would die.  So in order to have an Online business, we need traffic.  The question is where do we get it?

The first thing to do is set up a blog.  If anyone needs help with how to do that, then grab my e-book in the right hand corner at the top of my blog post and it’s free.  It teaches you everything you need to know about blogging.

We All Need Traffic (1)

Post, post and then post.  I post once a week, every Tuesday.  Blogging is considered to be a free method but it’s not really free because it takes up a lot of time and our time is not free.

In order to get traffic to our site, we have to get ourselves out there where we can stand out by taking action and following through.

Blog hopping is a good place to start and it’s a free method.  I know I touched on this topic in my last blog post but I feel I need to expand.  This is when you go into the forums and search for your niche.  I would suggest that you use Warrior Forum or Digital Point.  You find your niche and scroll down to see who needs help and if you can help them, leave a value driven comment.  After you’ve commented a few times, you’ll be able to leave your link behind.  Whatever you do make sure you follow the rules.  You don’t want to get yourself kicked out.  Leaving your link behind will take them to your blog or web page.  How cool is that.

I finally went out and got myself a blogging coach and her name is Adrienne Smith and she is absolutely incredible.  I felt myself struggling with my blogging and blog commenting and I searched out the right one for me.  I’m learning so much from her and wandering why I didn’t do this sooner.  I didn’t want anyone to know that I was struggling with this.  How stupid is that.  I am still trying to understand what kept me from doing this sooner.

I also went out and got myself a web designer as my blog needs a lot of work on it and his name is Ashley Faulkes.  I did my own theme with some help, myself.  But I see now it needs a lot of work and like Adrienne I picked out the best designer which reminds me I have work to do for him today.  It’s on my list of things to do.

My advise to new bloggers is to join forums. communities, and blog commenting groups.  Get yourself out there so people will know who you are.  You want to get noticed.  You want people to know like and trust you and the only way that’s going to happen is if you get yourself noticed.  Show your personality.  Let it be fun and engaging.  You will be surprised with the results.

Have you used these methods as well?  What kind of results have you received?  I would love to hear your thoughts so please be sure to leave me a comment below.  I also appreciate you sharing my post with your friends as well.  We never know when one of them might be looking for the same type of information.

You all have an awesome week,

  1. Hi Linda,

    What sound advice.

In my early days I use to struggle getting traffic to my blog but I didn’t put two and two together that I needed to comment. I was nervous and didn’t feel like what I had to share was important. I think it is because we all started at the beginning not knowing anything so just learning from others and making those connections are crucial. Blog commenting to me is the best way to put yourself in front of your target audience and be seen enough so that they’ll hopefully start to take notice.

As you mentioned though, forums are good for that as well but you have to be careful. Break those rules and they are very unforgiving. Following them and boy can you get some good traffic.

Thank you for the mention and I’m thrilled to be working with you. I’m so proud of you because you’re eager to learn and those are the best students. I can’t wait until Ashley starts working on your blog design and I know he’ll do a fabulous job for you.

Thank you again my friend and you have a wonderful week. I look forward to our next session.

P.S. I’ve also shared your post because you’ve made it easy for me now.

    • Hi Adrienne,

I found your comment (LOL). I’m in the early days of my journey of internet marketing and struggling to get traffic to my
blog and you are so right I have to get myself out there and get noticed and that is exactly what I am doing. Learning from
you is one of my favorite things to do. I have to make those connections and get in front of my target audience.

I am using digital point forum too now and I am very careful with the rules. The communities you gave me the links to are
getting me out there too and I thank you for that.

Your welcome for the mention and I love working with you too.

Ashley will do a tremendous job, I can feel it.

You left me with a lot of work to do and I will accomplish every task by the time you get back from your cruise.

Have a wonderful trip with your family and relax and enjoy yourself!

  2. Here’s what I found when it comes to getting traffic on the internet.

There are many ways to do that and there are many experts in every one of them.

Something that I didn’t get when I started in online business was that I thought that I need to know as many traffic getting methods as I possibly can.

    I was wrong.

You mentioned about blogging and yes, you are right – it is one of the way to get traffic.

You are also right that it isn’t really free because it requires time to blogging and promoting new posts.

I choosed blogging as well but there isn’t the best way of getting traffic for everyone.

The key is to choose the one that we want to use, learn about it and becoming better and better and better until we master it.

    The key?

Using only one traffic getting method because this is the best way to become a master and when we master it, then we can choose another one – this is one of the things that I learned from people who are smarter than me 🙂

    • Hi Michael,

Thank you for stopping by my blog post for a visit and leaving a well thought out comment and I’m
going to use two methods and they are solo ads and blogging. I have myself on a budget with the
solo ads and have luck with them. For the blogging I now have a coach and she is keeping me very
busy. I am learning a lot from her.

When someone tweets me, I do answer their tweets but on my own, it’s something that I need to
learn. I will learn social media at a different time as you said I have to learn how to blog
the right way and that is where I’m putting all my energy into.

      You have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Hi Linda,
Something *else* blogging does, is to allow you to have your own webspace, that you control.
Social media, for example, can be a great place to make contacts and drive traffic, but it’s the blog where you want people to go.
    Keep it up!
    cheers, Gordon

    • Hi Gordon,

You’re right social media is a good tool to use but blogging is my own piece of
real estate and I certainly want other people to come to my blog. I am working
on different methods to get traffic to my site like blog hopping, using forums
      and blog commenting.

Blogging is not an overnight success. It takes time and thank you for pointing
      that out to me.

You have a wonderful week and thank you.

  4. Love this Linda, so many people think that blogging is free! Yes, it costs time and if you do it right it’s worth it, but without the right time and energetic focus your site won’t get the traffic it deserves, and the business owner will give up. Thanks for sharing your wisdom x

    • Hi Sarah,

Sarah is one of my favorite names for a female.

Thank you for stopping by my blog post and leaving a nice comment. Blogging takes time
to master and I spend a lot of time reading blog posts and commenting. You’re right about
it being worth it and needing energy to do it. I retired early and now have more time to
spend on my blogging and all the other necessary things I need to do.

      You have a wonderful weekend,
